Endoscopy Asia has 7 main Endoscopy procedures which are:
1. OGD scopy also called as Upper GI scopy - It covers the esophagus, stomach and the duodenum. It’s a basic procedure which can be either Diagnostic or Therapeutic.
2. Colonoscopy also called as Lower GI scopy - It covers the anus, rectum and the colon (Large Intestine). It is also a basic procedure being either Diagnostic or Therapeutic.
3. Single Balloon Enteroscopy - Cover the enteron (small intestine) can be both Diagnostic and Therapeutic. Mainly an advanced procedure as we are trying to map the trickiest part of the entire digestive system having many twists and turns.
4. EUS / Endoscopic Ultrasound - It’s an advanced procedure which is like sonography but from the inside. Mainly a diagnostic procedure unless and until it is combined to take biopsies and thus we come to our next...
5. EUS FNA (Fine needle aspiration) - This is a therapeutic procedure as we usually take biopsies of lesions and tumors through aspiration with the help of EUS. It is an advanced procedure.
6. ERCP (Endoscopic retrograde cholangio-pancreatography) - The most advanced procedure when it comes to Endoscopy. It helps in mapping the accessory glands namely: the Pancreas, the Pancreatic duct, the Common Bile Duct, the Gall bladder and the Gall bladder duct and further aids in treating conditions related to them.
7. We also perform CAPSULE ENDOSCOPY it is diagnostic procedure in which the patient swallows a capsule shaped tablet fitted with camera which maps the entire system and takes picture at regular interval.
